The procedure name alone is not enough for a quotation
Standard bronchoscopy, EBUS-guided lymph-node sampling, navigational bronchoscopy, cryobiopsy and therapeutic airway procedures have different resource and equipment requirements.
Main cost drivers
The clinical plan determines the financial scope.
- Standard bronchoscopy versus EBUS or navigation
- Needle aspiration, biopsy or cryobiopsy
- Pathology, cytology and molecular testing
- Sedation or general anesthesia
- Disposable devices or airway stents
- Outpatient care versus inpatient observation
Imaging should be reviewed first
Recent CT or PET/CT images and previous pathology can change which bronchoscopic technique is appropriate. Sending these records before travel may prevent an estimate for the wrong procedure.
Request the complete episode scope
Ask whether the estimate includes anesthesia, pathology, special devices, hospital stay and follow-up, and how extra costs are handled if findings change the planned procedure.
