Minimum evidence required
A center is included only when the relevant capability and the wider hospital identity can both be verified.
- An official specialist-service page documents the treatment, procedure, diagnostic test or program.
- The service belongs to a named German hospital, university medical center or specialist department.
- The hospital has a verifiable official website and contact route.
- For international-patient planning, we prefer hospitals that publish an International Patient Office or comparable pathway.
- The source must be current enough to support the statement being made.
What ‘verified’ does not mean
Verification is deliberately limited. It does not mean that Treat in Germany has audited clinical outcomes or recommends one center over another.
- It is not a ‘best hospital’ ranking.
- It is not a paid placement or guarantee of preferential access.
- It does not prove that a treatment or diagnostic test is appropriate for a particular patient.
- It does not guarantee current capacity or acceptance of an international case.
- It does not compare survival, complications, waiting times or physician performance without a separately documented methodology.
Clinical indications remain separate
A hospital may offer a treatment or test without it being appropriate for every patient with the same diagnosis. Individual eligibility and treatment choice must be decided by qualified clinicians after reviewing the medical record.
Commercial relationships do not determine inclusion
Editorial inclusion must not depend on payment, referral fees or future lead-generation agreements. Any commercial relationship must be disclosed separately and must not change the evidence threshold used for the directory.
Source maintenance and removals
Hospital programs, URLs, staff and international-patient policies can change. If an official source disappears or no longer supports the statement, the link should be corrected, downgraded or removed until current evidence can be established.
Use official quality data separately
Service verification does not replace statutory hospital quality information. Department structure, reported activity, quality reports and meaningful certifications should be researched separately through official German sources.
