Heidelberg's current cost-coverage page says particle therapy is roughly three times as expensive as conventional radiation therapy. It does not publish one universal current self-pay tariff for every tumor or international patient. Older figures should not be presented as current treatment prices.

- Tumor site and indication
- Planning CT/MRI and immobilization
- Previous radiotherapy and re-irradiation complexity
- Number of treatment fractions
- Outpatient versus inpatient components
- Additional imaging, consultations or systemic treatment
Insurance coverage information is not an international self-pay quotation
HIT publishes agreements with German statutory insurers for covered indications. Those rules are useful context for insured German patients but should not be interpreted as the price or reimbursement pathway for a medical tourist.
Ask for the entire radiotherapy episode
Before arranging a multi-week stay, confirm the planning appointments, expected number of fractions, treatment start date, whether additional oncology services are billed separately and what happens if the final treatment plan changes after review.
